Documents are classified to ensure proper handling throughout the process

Even non-transactional documents are archived for easy access. After documents have been scanned and before they are submitted to capture, they undergo a classification process in which they are sorted according to specific document separation rules.

Document classifications include transactional documents (invoices, credit memos, utility bills, travel and entertainment reports) and non-transactional documents (statements, correspondence, change of address notices, acknowledgements). All blank pages are removed.

Exceptions are identified, flagged and posted on the Online Document Center (ODC). Exceptions include documents that have failed customer rules, documents with unclear structures or any other problems that may impede processing downstream. Customers can easily review and address exceptions online without referencing the original hardcopy.
